What is SambaFunk!?

SambaFunk! “Carnaval Explosion” is a fun way to pick up the latest dance moves, get into shape, build cardio endurance, physical stamina and meet positive people.   As well as being the name of a music genre that we’re big fans of, its also our community surrounding the dancing and drumming.

SambaFunk! combines Brasilian Bahia style Carnaval Bloco with African American Funk dance moves to create a unique cultural experience that only the cultures of Brasil and America could produce.  SambaFunk! “Carnaval Explosion” also incorporates culture, movement, music and dance from various international Carnaval traditions.  Instructor Theo Aytchan Williams takes dancers on a cultural journey through out the Diaspora of Funky Carnaval movement.
